Shooting Sports

Welcome to the Nogle Shooting Sports area, a place of precision, focus, and discipline located in the southeast territory of the camp. This program area is dedicated to developing marksmanship skills and teaching Scouts the fundamentals of safe and responsible handling of various shooting sports equipment.

Our range of programs includes archery, shotgun, rifle, and the thrilling throwing sports, which encompass atlatl, throwing knives, and tomahawks. Each discipline offers a unique challenge and an opportunity to learn and refine different shooting techniques. Morning unit shoots provide an excellent start to the day, allowing troops to engage in friendly competition and practice their skills.

Target competitions and Scoutmaster contests add an element of excitement and camaraderie to the shooting experience. Whether aiming for the bullseye with a bow, focusing on the target with a .22 caliber rifle, or mastering the art of the throw, Scouts will find a sport that challenges and rewards them.

Safety is our paramount concern, and all activities in the Nogle Shooting Sports area are overseen by BSA certified staff members. These experts ensure that every Scout learns the importance of safety protocols, proper handling, and respect for the equipment they use.

The shooting ranges are not just places to shoot; they are environments where Scouts build confidence, concentration, and a sense of achievement. Whether you're a first-time shooter or looking to advance your skills, the Nogle Shooting Sports area offers a comprehensive and safe shooting experience for all.
